About this school

Achieve Community Charter School operated as a public charter elementary and middle school in Newark’s South Ward, serving students at its Clinton Avenue campus. On July 1, 2023, it merged with People’s Preparatory Charter School under the BRICK Education Network, and the combined school now operates as BRICK Gateway Academy. The Clinton Avenue building continues to serve as BRICK Gateway’s elementary and middle school campus.

During its independent operation, Achieve emphasized early literacy through systematic phonics instruction and small guided-reading groups, with departmentalized instruction in the upper elementary and middle grades. Families previously enrolled at Achieve are now part of BRICK Gateway Academy.
