What this site collects and how it is used.
This notice describes the information collected by the Newark Charter Schools website, an independent directory for Newark families. Browsing the directory does not require an account or payment.
Who operates this site?
This directory is published independently and does not list a personal name or company on the site. It is not operated by a school, school network, Newark Board of Education, or New Jersey Department of Education. For a privacy question, use the site report form, leave the school field blank, and write “Privacy question” in the details. Do not include personal information about a child.
School update reports
If you send a report, the form asks for your name, email address, and details. Select a school for a school correction; leave the school field blank for a site or privacy question. A supporting link and suggested correction are optional. The report is saved in a private site record for review. Authorized site administrators can read it.
Comments
School pages may accept comments. Comments are reviewed before they appear. A published comment and the name you enter are visible to the public. Your email address is collected to manage the comment and is not displayed with it. Do not include personal information about your child.
Website measurement
The current website uses Google Analytics to measure visits and page activity. Google says Analytics can collect browser and device information, approximate location, and interactions with pages. Its website measurement may use first-party cookies, including a cookie named _ga. See Google’s explanation of Analytics data collection and Google’s Privacy Policy. You can block or clear cookies in your browser. This directory does not provide a cookie preference panel.
Links to other websites
School profiles link to school websites, application services, maps, and government pages. Those providers have their own privacy practices. When you follow a link, review the destination’s privacy notice before sharing information. School applications are completed on the provider’s website, not in this directory.
How long information is kept
Comments may remain on school pages until removed by a moderator. Update reports are kept as private site records while they are needed to review and act on corrections. To ask about a record or request removal, use the site report form, leave the school field blank, and identify the record you want reviewed.
